Compared to traditional tiles with cold feeling, warm flooring has become more popular in recent years. Amid frequently updating of various flooring sheets, SPC flooring has gained attention over the past two years for its features such as being formaldehyde-free, environmentally friendly, waterproof, wear-resistant, and affordable.

Although SPC is thin, its structure is still very diverse. It is usually composed of a wear-resistant layer, a color film layer and an SPC base layer.

The wear-resistant layer mainly improves the wear resistance and waterproofness of the stone plastic floor, ensuring that the floor can withstand scratches during use;

The imitation wood grain color film layer can make the floor visually have a real wood texture;

The SPC base layer is the core layer of the stone plastic floor, supporting the structure of the entire floor.

In addition, the SPC tiles also add a silent layer, which is commonly cork pads and PE silent pads, to reduce noise. The interlocking installation method also makes paving more convenient and the effect is more beautiful.

Although SPC flooring tiles looks very similar to wooden flooring, its multi-layer structure will make people worry whether it will easily deform or bulge after being heated.

We conducted a heating warping test on 5 products of our SPC series. After 6 hours of heating, the maximum warping deformation of the 5 SPC flooring samples was 0.06mm, which met the national standard of ≤2mm, and the samples did not show obvious deformation.

There are mainly the following types of SPC vinyl tile locks:

1. Straight locks

- Features: Straight locks are a relatively basic type of lock. Its shape is relatively simple, usually with convex strips and grooves set on the edge of the floor. When installing, the convex strips of one floor are inserted into the grooves of another floor, and the floors are spliced together in this way.

- Advantages: The straight lock has a simple structure and a relatively easy production process, so the cost is low. Moreover, this type of lock is more intuitive and easy to operate, and it is also easier for non-professionals to get started. It is suitable for some small home improvement projects or places where the installation accuracy requirements are not particularly high.

2. Double locks

- Features: The double lock is more complex in design than the straight lock. It has two sets of convex strips and grooves on the edge of the floor, which cooperate with each other to form a double locking mechanism. The two sets of locks can be arranged in parallel or staggered.

- Advantages: The splicing of the double lock is tighter and firmer, which can effectively prevent the floor from warping, shifting and other problems during use. This tight splicing method also helps to improve the overall stability of the floor, especially in areas that are under great pressure or where people move frequently. Its stability advantage is more obvious, and it is more suitable for large-area laying or places with large traffic.

3. Mandarin Duck Lock

- Features: The design of the mandarin duck lock is unique. The lock shape of the edges of its two adjacent floors is asymmetrical, just like the shape of a mandarin duck. The lock of one floor is one shape, and the lock of the other adjacent floor is another shape. The two cooperate with each other for splicing.
- Advantages: This lock method can make the floor form a very tight whole after splicing, with excellent stability and anti-deformation ability. At the same time, due to its unique lock shape, the surface flatness of the floor after installation is higher and the visual effect is better. It is generally used in high-end decoration projects or places with extremely high requirements for floor installation quality.
