I. Daily cleaning
1. Clean dust and debris
- It is necessary to use a broom or vacuum cleaner to clean commercial vinyl flooring every day. This can remove dust, hair, small particles of debris, etc. on the surface. If not cleaned in time, these debris will wear the surface of the floor when people walk, affecting the appearance and service life of the floor. Just like we clean the floor at home every day, commercial places need to be cleaned in time due to the large flow of people.
2. Use wet mop cleaning
- Regularly (for example, once a week) wet mop cleaning. Use a clean mop, soak it with warm water (the water temperature should not be too high, generally not more than 40℃, to avoid damage to the floor), and wring it out until it is dripping. A small amount of neutral detergent can be added to the warm water, adding according to the instructions for use of the detergent. Generally, it is appropriate to add no more than 30 ml of detergent per bucket of water (about 10 liters). This amount of detergent can effectively clean stains without leaving too much detergent on the floor, causing the floor to become sticky or discolored. Then use a mop to evenly wipe the floor surface. For areas with heavy stains, you can apply a little pressure, but don't use too much force to avoid scratching the floor.
2. Removing stubborn stains
1. Cleaning oil stains
- If there are oil stains on commercial vinyl flooring (such as the floor in the kitchen area), you can use a special vinyl floor oil stain cleaner. Spray the cleaner on the oil stains and let it stay for 3-5 minutes to allow the cleaner to fully penetrate and decompose the oil stains. Then use a clean soft cloth or sponge to gently wipe the oily area until the oil stains are removed. After that, wipe off the remaining cleaner with a clean wet rag. This special cleaner is developed for the material characteristics of vinyl flooring and can effectively remove oil stains without damaging the floor surface.
2. Treatment of glue stains
- When there are glue stains (which may be left by sticking logos or temporarily fixing items), you can use alcohol or a special glue stain remover. Dip a cotton ball or soft cloth in an appropriate amount of alcohol or glue stain remover and gently wipe the glue stain area. It should be noted that it is recommended to test in a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure that it will not cause discoloration or damage to the floor before using it on a large area. When wiping, gently apply force in the direction of the glue stain. Generally, the glue stain can be gradually removed, and then wipe it clean with a wet cloth.
III. Deep cleaning
1. Machine cleaning (applicable to large areas)
- For large commercial places, such as shopping malls, supermarkets and other places where vinyl flooring is laid on a large area, an automatic floor scrubber can be used for deep cleaning. First, add an appropriate amount of warm water and neutral detergent to the water tank of the floor scrubber (the proportion refers to the amount used for wet mopping cleaning), and then clean the floor according to the operating instructions of the floor scrubber. The brush or cleaning pad of the floor scrubber should be selected for the type of vinyl floor to avoid scratching the floor. This machine cleaning method can effectively remove deep dirt on the floor and can dry quickly, reducing the impact on the normal operation of commercial places.
2. Hire a professional cleaning service
- If there is no suitable cleaning equipment or the cleaning effect is high, you can also hire a professional cleaning service company. They have professional cleaning staff and equipment that can perform comprehensive and in-depth cleaning of commercial vinyl floors. Professional cleaning staff will develop a cleaning plan based on the actual contamination of the floor, and use appropriate cleaning products and methods to ensure that the floor is cleaned to the best effect.
IV. Precautions
1. Avoid using strong acid and alkali cleaners
- Strong acid and alkali cleaners will corrode the surface of the vinyl floor, causing the floor to fade, deform or lose its luster. For example, do not use cleaners containing ingredients such as hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide, even a small amount of use may cause irreversible damage to the floor.
2. Prevent scratches on the floor
- During the cleaning process, do not use sharp tools such as steel wool and hard brushes, which are easy to leave scratches on the floor surface. At the same time, be careful when carrying heavy objects to avoid scratching the floor with sharp edges of heavy objects. If there are small scratches on the floor, you can use a special repair agent for vinyl flooring to repair it.
3. Keep the floor dry
- After cleaning, make sure the floor is dry as soon as possible to avoid moisture remaining for a long time. Especially after cleaning, if there are water stains on the floor, you can use a dry mop or a water absorber to absorb the moisture. Long-term residual moisture may cause the floor to warp or breed mold.
