Wood flooring can be roughly divided into three categories: solid wood flooring, solid wood composite flooring and laminate flooring.
1. Solid wood flooring is a natural material and has the irreplaceable advantages of synthetic materials. It is non-toxic and odorless, feels comfortable on the feet, and is warm in winter and cool in summer. However, it also has shortcomings such as high price, large consumption of hardwood resources, heavy laying and installation workload, difficulty in maintenance (fear of fire, water, and moisture), and large size changes in the width direction of the floor as the relative humidity changes.
2. The appearance of solid wood composite flooring has the same beautiful wood texture as solid wood flooring. It has good dimensional stability and is easy to lay and maintain. However, it still cannot get rid of the shortcomings of being afraid of fire, water, and moisture. It is not as environmentally friendly as stone plastic flooring, and its wear resistance is not as good as stone plastic flooring.
3. The base material of laminate flooring is medium-density or high-density fiberboard and particle board, which has good dimensional stability. The surface layer is impregnated decorative paper containing wear-resistant materials, which ensures the surface layer's wear resistance, cigarette burning resistance, and scratch resistance. Compared with the first two, it has good scratch and stain resistance, which is still far behind the super wear resistance and stain resistance of stone plastic flooring.
