The Difference Between PVC LVT and SPC
PVC – the "predecessor" of new material flooring
LVT – the outdated "trendy" flooring
SPC flooring – the all-around trendy flooring
New materials have injected new life into the flooring industry, and new flooring has provided more choices for trendy home decoration. However, the new names have made consumers hesitate during the purchasing process!
They look similar and even sound alike, but they are really different. The above three types are the mainstream new material flooring on the market today. Not only consumers, but even some flooring salespeople can't tell them apart.
Part 1 PVC Flooring Roll Sheets
The "Predecessor" of New Material Flooring
To explain what LVT and SPC flooring are, we need to start with PVC flooring.
PVC Flooring "PVC flooring" refers to flooring made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Specifically, it is produced using PVC and its copolymer resins as the main raw materials, with the addition of fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, colorants, and other auxiliary materials. It is manufactured on a continuous sheet substrate through coating, calendering, extrusion, or compression processes. The relevant national standard is GB/T11982-2015.
PVC flooring is a popular new type of lightweight floor covering material worldwide, also known as "lightweight flooring". It is a product widely popular in Europe, America, and Asia, particularly in Japan and South Korea. It entered the Chinese market in the early 1980s and has since gained widespread acceptance in major and medium-sized cities across China.
