Why Should Gymnasiums Choose PVC Sports Flooring?

At present, the world has adopted PVC sports flooring (not artificial leather) to replace most traditional materials for paving gymnasium floors. PVC flooring does not age for a hundred years (so far, there is no record of natural scrapping in the world, except for improper paving and inferior quality). The wear and scratch resistance reaches the En660 standard Group T level, and the absorption of walking noise is comparable to carpet. The technical performance exceeds that of solid wood sports flooring and indoor sports venues such as acrylic. It is flame retardant, moisture-proof, and non-slip (even less slippery when encountering water), with an extremely low expansion coefficient, and is completely environmentally friendly and non-toxic. It is resistant to chemical pollution (but strong corrosive pollution must be cleaned up immediately), anti-static, and termites and other daily hazards cannot damage the floor (except for improper paving). It is more convenient to dismantle and move, and no special maintenance is required

  • Comfort Issue

The surface of professional PVC sports floor can deform moderately when it is impacted, just like a sealed mattress with air inside. When you fall or slip, the cushioning effect provided by the closed foam backing layer technology can minimize sports injuries.

  • Tremor Problems

Tremor refers to the range of deformation of the sport floor due to impact. The larger the tremor range, the more likely it is to cause fractures. There are two types of tremor: point tremor and regional tremor.

  • Vibration Absorption Issues

The impulse generated by people during exercise will cause vibration on the surface of the PVC sports floor. The structure of the floor must have the function of vibration absorption, that is the floor should have the performance of absorbing impact energy. The anti-impact force on the PVC sports floor is much smaller than that on the hard ground, such as the cement floor. When the athlete jumps and falls back to the floor, at least 53% of the impact should be absorbed by the floor, so as to protect the athlete's ankle joint, meniscus, spinal cord, and brain, so that people will not be injured during exercise. Its protection function also takes into account that a person cannot affect the neighboring people when exercising on the plastic sports floor. This is the concept of vibration absorption, vibration deformation and extension deformation described in the German DIN standard.

  • Ball rebound problem

The ball rebound test is to drop a basketball from a height of 6.6 feet onto the sports floor and test the rebound height of the basketball. This data is expressed as a percentage, and the height of the basketball rebounding on the concrete floor is used as a comparison standard to reflect the rebound height difference. The rules of indoor ball games require that the rebound comparison coefficient of the ball on the ground of the competition venue should be greater than or equal to 90% for sports competitions or training on the ground, such as the take-off action and the rebound of the ball in ball sports such as basketball. Professional PVC sports flooring has outstanding and stable ball rebound performance. There is no elastic dead point on the floor, and its rebound comparison coefficient can reach up to 98%.

  • The Problem of Energy Return from Exercise

This refers to the energy that the PVC sports floor returns to athletes during exercise to improve exercise efficiency.

  • Rolling Load Problem

The load-bearing capacity, firmness and service life of professional sports floors must meet the requirements of competitions and training. For example, when movable basketball stands and related sports facilities are moved on the floor, the surface and structure of the floor must not be damaged. This is the rolling load standard and concept described by the German DIN standard.
