How to distinguish the quality of SPC flooring
The quality of SPC floor can be distinguished from the following aspects:
Material composition
High-quality SPC floor is made of appropriate amount of stone powder and high-quality PVC resin, with strong and elastic texture; while inferior floor may have too much stone powder or poor quality PVC resin, which is easy to crack.
Appearance and craftsmanship
- Color and texture: High-quality floor has natural and uniform color, without obvious color difference and spots; clear and realistic texture, which can well imitate wood grain or marble grain; smooth surface, without defects such as bubbles, cracks, and depressions. Inferior floor may have mixed colors and blurred texture.
- Lock design: The lock of high-quality floor is tight, the splicing is smooth and seamless, and it is firm and stable after installation; the lock of inferior floor may be loose, and it is easy to have gaps or dislocation after splicing.
Physical properties
- Wear layer thickness: Floors with a wear layer thickness of 0.3mm or more have good wear resistance and can withstand daily friction and scratches.
- Stability: High-quality SPC floors will not deform or warp in environments with large temperature and humidity changes; low-quality floors may be easily deformed due to poor stability and thermal expansion and contraction.
- Anti-slip performance: High-quality floors have good anti-slip performance and can provide sufficient friction to prevent slipping even in a humid environment; you can feel its anti-slip effect by walking on the slippery floor surface or touching it with your hands.
Environmental protection
The raw materials and glue used in the production process of high-quality SPC floors meet national environmental protection standards, have low formaldehyde content, meet E0 or E1 standards, and have no irritating odor; if you smell a pungent odor, it may indicate that the floor used inferior glue or additives during the production process, and long-term use may affect your health.
Size and thickness
The size of high-quality SPC floors is accurate and meets relevant national standards; the thickness is sufficient, usually around 4-5.5 mm, to provide better compression resistance and durability. You can use tools such as calipers to measure the floor to ensure that its size and thickness meet the requirements.
Brand and after-sales service
Regular brand SPC floors usually have information such as manufacturer, production date, specifications and models marked on the product, and provide comprehensive after-sales services such as warranty and consultation; while small brands or inferior products may lack these guarantees.
